Millie-esque
Not long ago, I watched the entire series of "Freaks and Geeks", which I had never seen before. One of the things that struck me was how the character of Millie - Lindsay's chaste, religious, naive, once childhood friend who she almost can't reconcile being seen with now, and who herself can't understand why anything would be better than being part of the mathletes and simply isn't developing on the same lines - played by Sarah Hagan, closely resembled a Clowes character in almost all her features.
She was also a potential slayer in the last series of Buffy, but by comparison only in "Freaks and Geeks" did she seem to look so strikingly quirky and cartoon-like to me.
This picture, of which she actually looks nothing like, is just to demonstrate how easy it is to draw something without reference that looks vaguely recognisable as her (character) without really trying just by appropriating and arranging her exaggerated features (and perhaps even the muted tones of colour in the show, were I trying harder), being as she is almost ready made as a drawing right in front of you. It sort of fascinated me! I should try a proper picture at some point perhaps, I think it could be fun.
Oh, I really liked the show too.
